Jennifer Vogelgesang Blake (better known as JVB to her friends, and now, you) is a personal trainer, strength coach, and competitive powerlifter living and working in the Twin Cities. A USA Powerlifting club coach and certified RKC2 trainer, her clients span the spectrum of brand-new to more advanced lifters. When she isn’t in the gym, online, or on the platform, you can find her lifting, reading, taking her two children on adventures around Minneapolis, and sitting on the same side of the booth as her husband when out to dinner.

Jessi Kneeland is a coach, teacher, speaker, and writer dedicated to helping women love their bodies. Her purpose on earth is to help all women break free from the body image issues, fear, shame, and armor that hold them back. This is a fascinating conversation that I know you’ll love.

Following on from last weeks episode, I am excited to profile another female run enterprise based out of the UK. Become is a menopause clothing brand with intelligent fabrics that stop hot flushes and night sweats. On the show we speak about Become's #HotWomenOnly campaign - inviting women over 40 to share the stories of what makes them truly empowered, confident and their own kind of 'hot'. The winner will be a new ambassador for Become - a woman over 40 proving that there’s more to life than menopause.

In this episode I am profile a female entrepreneur, Becks Armstrong, who has created a mediation app with an emphasis on addressing symptoms of menopause through the power of breath and mindfulness, Clarity features an InstaCold function which provides instant relief during a hot flash.
Becks is on a mission of changing the conversation and experience for women over 40 - specifically for this group of women because they are so often forgotten and she has found through her own experience that there is very little available to help. And for listeners to this episode who want to try this out, head over to https://clarity.app/ and use the code CFA-FITNCHIPS - and the first 1000 subscribers will receive a free 1 month trial of the Clarity mindfulness and relaxation app.

Dan John is an industry legend who has a very practical approach to fitness after years of research and experience in the industry. We talk about how fitness needs to change as we age, and it needs to take women’s health through menopause seriously. He focuses this conversation on 4 categories: health, longevity (women have the edge on this), fitness (tasks we want to do) and performance. Also we discuss losing our mojo as we age and how to reign it back in bit by bit and where to start.

Kelly Coffey (C-O-F-F-E-Y) is a fucking badass. She’s the force behind Strong Coffey Personal Training in New England, and the popular blog strongcoffey.com. In 1997, at over 300 pounds, Coffey was a study in how not to treat a human body. She was depressed, inactive, and uncomfortable. She had weight loss surgery only to gain much of the weight back - AGAIN. Sad, disconnected, and scared to even hope, she finally saw what the problem was - not her body or her weight, but her obsessive drive to sabotage every health- and care-based commitment she tried to make. She pieced together a practical, real-world solution to self-sabotage and the loss/gain cycle, and has maintained a healthy, comfortable weight for well over a decade. Coffey coaches women all over the world on how to do the same in her acclaimed online course, the Pleasure Principles.

Kim Vopni, The Vagina Coach, is an expert who talks all about the vagina, apparently one of the worlds most hated words. In this episode we discuss how most women don’t realize, that in menopause pelvic floor vitality is effected. The sneeze pee, the kegel mojo (are you doing it correctly), sexual satisfaction, dry vagina and sandpaper sex. There is no place we don’t go!

Electronic warfare engineer turned personal trainer, Elsbeth is one of my favourite fitness presenters and I am very honoured to have her on the show. Elsbeth regularly trains newbies to her gym that are over 40 and she gets to see this generation thrive and find the joy in strength training, especially women over 50 who are usually apprehensive to start, but then she loves to all the things they see the can do! It’s life-changing. (oh and we discuss scotch-eggs!)
